Sudden arrival of Jayendrar [Swamigal] to Kanchi Mutt!

Kanchipuram: Jayendrar [Swami] came to the Mutt in the early hours of today. Hordes of devotees came and took blessings from Jayandrar, who visited the Mutt after a gap of 143 days.

[Sri Sri Sri] Jayendrar, who has received bail in the Shankarraman case, is staying at Kalavai. There had been a restriction on his visiting the Mutt until the enquiries were completed. Although the enquiries have been completed and chargesheet prepared, Jayendrar has not visited the Mutt until now.

He has been staying at Kalavai and meeting devotees there.

Today, at 4 AM in the morning he left Kalavai in a van. He came to Kanchipuram and inaugurated a new free Ayurvedic” clinic, that has been opened near the Shankar Mutt, and suddenly made a surprise visit to the Shankar Mutt .

Jayendrar'’s visit was made known only to one or two key people in the Mutt. Even then, the news of his visit immediately spread like wildfire and huge numbers of devotees rushed to the Mutt.

Jayendrar, who has come after a 143 days, was given a rousing welcome at the Mutt entrance, with the traditional chanting of Veda Mantras. Many devotees
had tears in their eyes.

Jayendrar [Swamigl] proceeded straight to the Adhistaana of Mahaperiyava and performed Archana there. He then went and inspected every part of the Mutt, and the smile that has not been seen on his face for ever so many days was seen again today.

He stayed in the Mutt for around 45 minutes, until 5:45 AM, and performed Pooja. He then went to Kamakshi Amman temple, after offering Deeparadhana and Pooja at
the Kaushikeshwara shrine enroute.

Jayendrar, who arrived at 6 AM at the Kamakshi Amman temple was given a very special welcome, with Poorna Kumbha honours. He then visited all the shrines of the temple and offered Milk abhiseka at each shrine.

For Kamakshi Amman, 108 litres of milk was offered in Abhishekam. Milk abhisheka was offered to Adi Shankara as well.

Amman was worshipped with Annapaavaadai, an offering of rice mixed with sugar-candy. Jayendrar [Swamigal] offered worship for around an hour.

After completing the worship he went and sat down in a wooden bench in Shukravara mandapa of the temple. Hundreds of devotees gathered there and falling at his feet, received his blessings with tear filled eyes. His Holiness Jayendrar blessed them with prasadam of fruits, candy, flowers and was a picture of joy.

After ten minutes, when he getting ready to leave, the temple baby elephant was brought to him. His Holiness blessed the baby elephant, which made an offering of bananas – and then he got onto the van.

Leaving once again for Kalavai, Jayendrar [Swami's] eyes were moist with tears.
